Ah yes... I forgot to mention the Turkish Get Up... yes that one that we all moan about when Gretchen has us do them to warm up. Well I won't be moaning any more. Thanks to the Turkish Get Up I can get out of the tub with out a crane. I can stand right up without pulling on anything and risking ripping the towel bar from the wall or pulling my husband into the tub with me. I just stand up... amazing.

Thanks Robbie. I have been so impressed with your willingness to push yourself. After a few weeks of me encouraging you to work harder, I see you pushing yourself to work harder. That is my goal for all the people I work with. Great job!

Okay... I am one of those people who finds "really" good excuses not to exercise. You name it I have used it! I give myself a little break cause I, like many, was the victim of the Nazi PE teacher in school (guess that probably reveals my age). I know that was a lot of years ago but those old feeling of dread at the thought of my body not performing the way it should creeps into my psyche and takes up residence. Plus... I really hate pain!

A few months ago I started working with Gretchen, with a lot of encouragement from my husband and the fact that I just did not like the way things were shaping up... so to speak. Before.. I could just cut down on a few calories and lose a bit of weight... well that STOPPED! I have known in my head that I should be exercising (hate that word) but again could always find reasons not to. I have been working with the Steady Strength group for quite a few months now. I have to say, I really am having fun. No dread, I actually turned down a social event because it would mean I missed class. We are all pretty much in the same boat. It is a good-natured hour of hard work and fun, certainly not boring which is another one of my excuses, and I am losing pounds and inches! YES! Thanks Gretchen... you really have made a difference in my life.
